Outreach Seminar with Jim Vogel

MONONGAH, W.Va.—Leaders from three northern West Virginia churches met at Monongah Baptist Church with Jim Vogel, associate national representative of the GARBC, for a Saturday outreach seminar. Participating were Pastor Jon Stitzel, Galilean Baptist, Fairmont; Pastor Michael Tallman, Calvary Baptist, Buckhannon; and Pastor Wayne Cooper, Lowman Baptist, Pine Grove; as well as Pastor David Huckins, Assistant Pastor Dean Brannen, and a few deacons from the host church. Tim Amundson, a representative of Bibles International and a former pastor in West Virginia, also participated in the seminar.

These West Virginia leaders are committed to developing more effective ministries that reach out to the lost in their communities. Their discussion time included opportunity to review the Scriptural foundation for outreach, overview a basic eight-phase evangelism strategy, and consider a simple implementation plan that a church of any size can use. The men left encouraged, with a commitment to put into practice the outreach concepts they learned.
