Day Camp at Forest Ranch

Forest Ranch, Calif.—Forest Ranch Baptist Church has recently completed a day camp for children in their community, organized by members of the church.

“On the first day, we had more people (kids and adults) at the first day than have attended the previous two weeks of morning service,” Pastor Chips Ross said, noting that many of the children who attended did not regularly attend church. By the end of the week, two children had made decisions for Christ.

“God blessed this ministry, Pastor Ross said. “The church served; the kids came; and we had opportunities to reach out that we’ve never had before. Some of it was based on the preparation work laid by Good News Club, and some of it also by the free ice cream!”

As a result of the good attendance, the church has committed to continue its weekly Good News Club in a local school. The church needs to receive permission for the club, and needs to recruit additional volunteers from the church. “Please pray for God’s intervention in putting all of these many details together,” Pastor Ross asked.
