David Henriksen, Pastor

David-Henriksen-0bit_inlineGRAND RAPDIS, Mich.—David Henriksen, a retired pastor, church planter, and interim pastor, died Dec. 14 at age 81.

David studied at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo., graduating with a ThM. He and his wife, Ann, spent their entire married life spreading the Word of God. As a pastor and missionary, David spent 17 years in Laos, translating the Bible and reading and recording the Gospels fluently in Lao. They also spent time in Silver Lake, Wis., where David was pastor of Community Baptist Church, and he served several interim positions throughout the United States.

David was a loving and devoted husband, wonderful father, proud grandfather, and faithful servant to his Lord. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann; their children, Alice Humble, Karen Steele, and David; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 5:00–8:00 p.m., at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 3900 E. Fulton Street, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. A one-hour visitation will also take place prior to the service at the church.
