Church to Send Family on Unique Missions Project

LOTHIAN, Md.—Capitol Baptist Church is sending Dr. David Gadson and his family on a short-term missions project to share the gospel with churches and Christian schools through a unique set of activities called the Emergency Preparedness Games. EP Games is a unique set of eight engaging activities that fit into an Awana Club format. The twofold purpose of EP Games is to increase awareness about emergency preparedness and to share God’s eternal preparedness plan of the gospel—the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. In November the Gadson family visited Fox Valley Baptist Church, Dundee, Ill., ministering in their Christian school and in their church junior church program.

Gadson, a graduate of Baptist Bible College and Pensacola Christian College, was saved more than 39 years ago through Awana. At Capitol, he has been an Awana commander, and his wife has been a club leader. Six of their seven children have participated in the Awana program. The ministry they are embarking on involves no additional work for church club leaders, and Gadson and his family can handle up to 100 clubbers. No fees are charged to the church for EP Games; only a love gift from the church to the home church in support of the missions trip is asked.
