Baptism at Great Commission Baptist Church

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Great Commission Baptist Church, being planted by Scott and Brooke Greening of Baptist Church Planters, held its first baptism this month. LaRod Brown, who who has been attending Great Commission since it started, brought 14 of his family members with him to watch his baptism. Rod says, “I wanted to identify with my commitment.” He had accepted Jesus into his life as a younger man.

Scott says the baptism “was a huge encouragement to us all.” The congregation had its normal service at the Community Recreation Center and then caravanned to a local hotel for the baptism. Afterward, they caravanned to a local restaurant for a meal together. “It was a great meal shared by 40 people,” says Scott. He is praising the Lord for LaRod’s continued growth.

Great Commission Baptist Church serves the communities of Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, and Streamwood, Ill. The church is committed to putting God’s love in action. Scott asks for prayer that the church will see many baptisms in the future.
