MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa—Pastor Mike Hess and Kevin Wagler of Calvary Baptist Church were involved in a missions trip to Santa Marta, Colombia, to help and encourage ABWE missionaries Jonathan and Holly Boyd.

The Boyds, along with missionaries Scott and Laura Carter and Colombian pastor Alfredo and Juana Medina, aim to launch the church plant Impacto Biblico Iglesia Bautists (Biblical Impact Baptist Church) this month. Pastor Hess preached and taught there. Both he and Kevin (a deacon at Calvary Baptist) were impressed by the missionaries’ vision and motivation of saturating Santa Marta with the gospel.

Calvary Baptist Church regularly sends out teams to visit missionaries they support to encourage, edify, and ignite within people a passion to spread the gospel to the nations. Recent trips the church was involved with include Haiti, South Africa, and Vancouver, B.C.
