MARBC-Bus-Trip_INROCHESTER, Minn.—The Minnesota Association of Regular Baptist Churches took a trip loaded with adventure. Members of MARBC churches boarded a bus and then a boat to travel over 1,600 miles across eight states and one lake.

Thirty-four people departed from Calvary Baptist Church in Rochester at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 7. Riding in a coach bus, they made their way to Manitowoc, Wis., where they boarded the SS Badger to cross Lake Michigan, arriving in Ludington, Mich. The next day they traveled to Grand Rapids. However, the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum, where they had planned to stop, was closed due to the federal government shutdown. So they ended up spending the day shopping in Frankenmuth.

For the rest of the week the group visited the Henry Ford Museum and Ford Rouge Factory in Dearborn, Mich.; the Creation Museum in Cincinnati; and the Caterpillar visitors’ center and Luthy Botanical Garden in Peoria, Ill.

The Creation Museum was the group’s main point of interest, and this was the MARBC’s third time visiting. State representative Darrell Friar says, “I firmly believe that every born-again Christian should visit this place at least once. And for those who go back for a repeat visit, there is always more to learn.”

The group arrived back home Oct. 12.

Darrell Friar said the trip was a great opportunity for fellowship.
