BBC Honors Craig Golden

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.—Baptist Bible College and Seminary has awarded R. Craig Golden an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree during its 2010 Commencement exercises, an honor awarded by action of the board of trustees.

“It was a humbling, surreal experience,” Craig says of the event. “Never in a thousand years did we think we would be honored this way.”

Golden graduated from Baptist Bible College with a ThB in 1969, then in 2001 graduated from the seminary with a Master of Ministry degree. He has served for 22 years as the state representative of the Empire Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches, was a pastor for 20 years, and was formerly a trustee of BBC.

“We don’t come from a long line of famous people,” says Golden’s wife, Shirley. “I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks; Craig was a farmer. We are grateful for such a surprise honor.”
