SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Baptist Builders Club kicked off the Christmas season early by offering donors a way to “stuff the disaster stocking.” The first gift has already been delivered!

Jack Austin, pastor of church education at Calvary Baptist Church, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., phoned Michael Nolan, director of BBC–USA, to ask if John Wilhorn, a member of the church, could donate a piece of equipment. Wilhorn, having seen the list of needed items in the BBC–USA August newsletter, wanted to donate a chain saw that was in excellent condition. Pastor Austin asked if this would be acceptable. Michael Nolan said, “Absolutely. We need prayers and funds to purchase necessary items, or we can take donated items from our list that are new or like new.”

BBC–USA is in the beginning phases of raising support to purchase a trailer, transportation, and items that volunteers will need as they assist churches after disasters strike. BBC–USA has a small scale of supplies listed for the Christmas Giving Project, but a complete list can be found here.

Michael Nolan says, “We’re excited about this new part of the ministry and to see it grow and be used to assist churches in ministering to their communities. We can use prayers, funds, new, or like-new items, as well as individuals to sign up to be ready to go when the next disaster strikes.”
