Altoona Regular Baptist, Iowa, to Celebrate Its 50th

ALTOONA, Iowa—Altoona Regular Baptist Church will celebrate its 50th anniversary April 30 and May 1 and invites former members and friends to attend.

Altoona Regular Baptist Church was born out of the burden on the hearts of people in a nearby community. Under the leadership of Russell Farrell, pastor of Adelphi Calvary Baptist Church, Sunday services began on Easter Sunday 1961 with 52 present. Through 50 years of ministry, this body of believers has maintained a testimony of genuine care for its constituency and community by, as Pastor Farrell described, “using God’s Word for the salvation of the lost and the edification of the found.” Known for expository preaching, Altoona Regular Baptist Church is considered a “preacher’s church,” and early in its history, a passion for missions was evident. Believers there display a continued commitment to praying for and supporting missionaries.

Perhaps your life was impacted in some way through a ministry of Altoona Regular Baptist Church. The church invites you to share your memories of the ministry and how you have served the Lord since attending. You are also invited to join the anniversary celebration. Guests will enjoy catered meals, music including a volunteer choir, testimonies, and preaching by pastors, associates, and youth ministers who have led the flock through the years.

Visit www.altoonarbc.org or e-mail church@altoonarbc.org to ask questions, indicate your plans to attend, share photos, and relate your memories. If you have photos, stories, or items that you prefer to mail, send them to 803 3rd Ave. S.W., Altoona, Iowa, 50009, to the attention of Ginny Stratford.
