bb-incopy-stryker.jpgSTRYKER, Ohio—Daniel and Sharon Douglass celebrated 25 years of ministry at First Baptist Church of Stryker on June 8. Surprises planned for the day included Pastor and Sharon’s not having any responsibilities for the day, and their enjoying the company of their children and grandchildren.

Pastor Douglass and Sharon received a corsage and boutonniere, and a flower arrangement also graced the communion table in their honor. Morning worship included many of their favorite hymns, and several special numbers spoke of service to the Lord. Missionary Verne Kirby told an amusing story of being with Pastor and Sharon, and then he read the morning Scripture passage. OARBC State Representative Dr. David Warren brought the morning message centered on how a pastor must be tough-minded and also tenderhearted.

Following a carry-in luncheon Daniel and Sharon were presented with a money tree from the congregation, along with cards of congratulations. They also cut a beautifully decorated cake in their honor. Many church members shared memories and expressed appreciation for their work at First Baptist.
