Teens in Basic Training

By May 2, 2008July 16th, 2014No Comments

Two hundred teens attended the final day of Empire State Fellowship’s 2008 regional youth seminars, held at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. For the series of four regional seminars, 1549 participants yielded a love offering of $4600 for Fort Drum Wounded Soldiers, a program in which Chaplains assist men and women returning from war. David Tebbenkamp, youth pastor from Waterloo, Iowa, highlighted the conference theme, Basic Training ’08, through powerful messages on fighting the spiritual battle. Experienced lay people and pastors taught nine workshops helping teens to defend their faith and to serve their Commander-in-Chief. Praise the Lord for these weekend “maneuvers” conducted to better train our Christian young people!
