VBS Students Enjoy Week on Arrow Island

AHvbs_inlineARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.—VBS at First Baptist Church “is a great time for us to connect with our community and share the love of God with the families that attend,” says Ben Burnet, VBS director.

About 100 children attended each day of VBS, where they enjoyed the Arrow Island: Choosing God’s Way program published by Regular Baptist Press.

Burnet says, “It’s always interesting to see how God will work in the lives of the children, and this year was no different. We had two children come to one of our teachers to talk with her about accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. We praise God for these decisions and pray that God will continue to work in their lives.”

The children’s exciting week on Arrow Island incorporated theme-related puppet scripts, songs, crafts, and games. But the first and foremost goal for First Baptist Church was that the gospel of Jesus Christ be taught—a goal that Regular Baptist Press shares and emphasizes in its materials.

“Our church has been blessed with people who keep God’s Word as their center,” Burnet says. “[VBS] could never happen without their help, energy, and excitement for sharing God’s Word with the children. . . . What a great opportunity we have been given to share God’s wonderful gift with so many people.”
