VBS Goes ‘Over the Moat’ at Maranatha Baptist

DOVER, Del.—Vacation Bible School at Maranatha Baptist Church “was a great week where we met all of our goals set by the VBS team,” says Pastor Lance Wager.

The church used the “Over the Moat: Drawbridge to the King” VBS program published by Regular Baptist Press. Through the lessons, the students saw God’s sovereignty, love, and faithfulness demonstrated in the life of David, and learned to praise the King of the universe. Ben Wager, a Bible school student, led the program and, in doing so, gained real-life ministry experience.

“We had a great group of kids,” Pastor Wager says. During the week, those attending donated over $500 to an offering project that would send digital Bibles to U.S. troops, and a number of students accepted Christ as their Savior. The program ended with a medieval feast on the church lawn and games that included jousting the safe way: with pool noodles.

“We give God all the glory, as we held special VBS prayer meetings in the month leading up to the program,” Pastor Wager says. “Everything good comes from God!”
