Statewide Youth Conference Answers Big, Bold Questions

NYyouth2_inlineHORSEHEADS, N.Y.—Nearly 1,000 young people descended upon four New York churches for the Northwest Fellowship’s Youth Seminars, a weekend-long annual Bible conference for students in grades six through 12. First Baptist in Horseheads, Calvary Baptist in Norwich, First Baptist in Marilla, and Open Door Baptist Church in New Woodstock hosted the event simultaneously March 20 and 21. The Youth Seminars, with its teaching sessions, workshops, and worship music, has been impacting young people across the state for decades.

This year’s theme was “BBQ: Big Bold Questions,” focusing on Colossians 2:6–8. In the main sessions, speakers encouraged students to ask hard questions of their faith and demonstrated that God’s Word has answers. The teens and tweens also chose to attend three of six workshops, with each one equipping students to answer a big question that often confronts them in the world.

“The Youth Seminars are a personal passion of mine,” says Jeff Bartz, associate pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Batavia, New York, and one of the site coordinators. “They were formative in my walk with the Lord and calling into ministry. What a thrill to bring students to this event and witness God continue to use the tool to move young people!”
