ANKENY, Iowa—Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary welcomed a record 236 attendees for its Refresh Conference Jan. 28–31. The conference, now in its fifth year, is an annual event for ministry leaders and their spouses. Those attending represented 119 ministries from 21 states, Canada, and Brazil.

The theme for this year’s Refresh Conference was “Navigating the Personal Challenges of Ministry.” “Life in ministry is filled with joyous peaks, but it can also have its exhausting valleys,” the conference brochure states. Jim Tillotson, president of Faith, aimed for the conference to “be an oasis in the often frantic pace of ministry life.”

Speaking during the main sessions were Faith staff and faculty members Douglas Brown, Paul Hartog, Marty Herron, Les Ollila, Dean Taylor, and Jim Tillotson, as well as Mike Hess (GARBC national representative), Doug McLachlan (former pastor of Fourth Baptist Church, Plymouth, Minnesota), and Steve Pettit (president of Bob Jones University).

Kevin Inafuku, a ministry team member of Gospel Hope Church, Riverton, Utah, performed a concert at Thursday evening’s main session and performed songs during additional sessions throughout the week.

Next year’s Refresh Conference will be held Feb. 2-5, with the theme “Faithfulness.”
