WATKINS GLEN, N.Y.—Married couples from Northeast Fellowship churches attended the fellowship’s Marriage Refresh retreat at Harbor Hotel Dec. 27–28.
Speaking on the theme “Go for the Gold,” Pastor Mark Ferry of Imperfect Church, Camillus, New York, challenged the couples to treat each other like gold by following the Bible’s golden rule: “treat people the same way you want them to treat you” (Matt. 7:12, NASB).
Married couples, Ferry says, need to remember their identity and acceptance in Christ and use those qualities to love and minister to their spouses.
In addition to learning from the Bible, the couples also enjoyed participating in both fast-paced events like a photo scavenger hunt and slow-down times of rest and relaxation.
