HAZEL PARK, Mich.—Tabernacle Baptist Church held a five-day missions conference with Jon Shepherd, a missionary with Global Gates to the least reached people groups in America.

“No longer do we need to fly to the ends of the earth to share Christ with least reached peoples. God has brought the ends of the earth to us,” says the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches.

After three nights of preaching and teaching, Jon spent the morning of Saturday, Oct. 26, preparing a group of 20 people to directly engage with people in Hazel Park, a suburb of Detroit. That afternoon he led the group in door-to-door evangelism and took them inside local mosques to talk with people.

“There were good opportunities to connect the gospel with these dear folks, who live just minutes from our homes and church,” says Tabernacle Baptist Church.

The conference concluded on Sunday, Oct. 27, with a praise service, including many joyful testimonies. “The entire event was very blessed and exciting,” the church says.
