WINNEBAGO, Minn.—Members of churches that are part of the Minnesota Association of Regular Baptist Churches enjoyed a trip to the Grand Canyon. Traveling together is an annual event for the association, though the destination changes each year. On this year’s trip the “twenty-nine passengers had a fantastic time of fellowship and learning,” says Darrell Friar, state representative of the association.
After arriving by bus in Williams, Arizona, the group took a train, with first-class round-trip tickets, to the Grand Canyon.
In addition to sightseeing at the Grand Canyon (with a few people even riding the zip line across the canyon), the group also visited the Meteor Crater Natural Landmark in Winslow, Arizona; the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Museum in Abilene, Kansas; the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Cañon City, Colorado; Garden of the Gods, USA Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, and Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs; and a mystery destination: the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History in Albuquerque.
“One of the other highlights on our longer trips is the opportunity to fellowship with believers in another location,” Friar says. On Sunday morning of the trip, the group attended Charity Baptist Church, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, led by Pastor Keith Skaggs. Friar says, “The church welcomed our group as we had a blessed time worshiping together.”
