MARBC_inlineBEMIDJI—Beautiful Lake Bemidji, sunny skies, and brilliant autumn leaves provided a picturesque setting for attendees of the 2014 meeting of the Minnesota Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Faith Baptist Church, pastored by Derek Claypool, hosted the event Sept. 15–17.

The meeting centered on the theme “Blueprint for Regular, Real, and Relevant Ministry.” Dr. John Greening, GARBC national representative and author of Blueprint for Spiritual Maturity, brought a series of challenging and encouraging messages for pastors and wives and church leaders. Referring to 2 Timothy, he spoke on “Knowing Ministry Purpose,” “Identifying Ministry Duties,” “Developing Ministry Skills,” and “Understanding Ministry Risks.” His wife, Daria, shared special workshops for women related to revitalizing their personal and ministry lives.

Dwight LaPine, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Rochester, Minn., led a thought-provoking men’s workshop on reaching the next generation. Conference attendees also enjoyed singing praises to the Lord, augmented by the music ministry of Assistant Pastor Gene and Vona Murrell of Calvary Baptist and Pastor Brian Wiita (including accordion accompaniment) of Faith Baptist, Hermantown, Minn.

Under the leadership of Darrell Friar, MARBC state representative, the association discussed future ministry possibilities and warmly welcomed First Baptist Church, Marshall, Minn., to the fellowship.
