Lapeer Bible Conference Addresses ‘Turning the World Upside Down’

By January 25, 2019No Comments

LAPEER, Mich.—First Baptist Church of Lapeer held their third annual Bible conference on Jan. 19. The theme for this year’s event was “Turning the World Upside Down.” Guest speaker Dan Miller, lead pastor of Eden Baptist Church, Burnsville, Minn., began the day by leading attendees through an overview of Acts, drawing out the book’s major themes.

After a lunch break, the afternoon sessions focused on Acts 3–4 and 16–17 to demonstrate how the gospel rattles worldly power structures and liberates rebel souls. Pastor Dan encouraged members of FBCL and other churches to join in the mission of the risen Christ with dependence and boldness. Those who attended also enjoyed fellowship, singing, and refreshments. All four conference sessions are available at online; select “Bible Conference 2019” from the Browse Series drop-down menu.

First Baptist Church of Lapeer invites churches to attend their 2020 Bible conference on Jan. 11. Guest speaker Will Galkin will address the topic of discipling in the local church.
