Ladies of Churches in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia Learn about WAR

HAGERSTOWN, Md.—Linda Leudaman was the keynote speaker for the 2018 DelMarVa Ladies’ Retreat held at the Spring Hill Suites. Linda was representing WAR, Int’l.

Its official name is Women At Risk, International, a Michigan-based nonprofit organization established “to create circles of protection around those at risk.” It provides safe places to heal from abuse, trafficking, exploitation, and more. Friday night and Saturday morning Linda shared powerful stories of hope and rescue, along with a challenge for the ladies to choose joy no matter their circumstances. The DelMarVa ladies were able to help women rescued from slavery by purchasing gifts and jewelry the women had made.

“Food, fun, and friendship. These are just a few of the things that bring ladies from the DelMarVa Baptist Fellowship back together year after year,” says Beverly Burman, who organized the event and kept the group laughing and sharing. Lori Schroder from Good News Baptist Church organized the games and activities. Beverly reports the ladies had a great time of fellowship on Friday, some of them playing board games late into the night, and a wonderful time in prayer Saturday morning as the women gathered in pairs from different churches.
