DES MOINES, Iowa—Three churches in Iowa met for a combined worship service this fall.

Fellowship Baptist Church welcomed Urbandale Baptist Church of Urbandale and Emmanuel Baptist Church of Des Moines for an evening service featuring Scripture reading, the Lord’s Supper, and the Uplift music team from Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. The evening concluded with a friendly chili cookoff.

Nathan Gast, pastor of Urbandale Baptist, says, “The opportunity to worship with other believers reminds us that we are part of a bigger body of believers and will one day, with these and many more, worship together around the throne of our great God and King forever and ever! Our people love to join together for these joint services!”

Dan Vance, pastor of Fellowship Baptist, agrees. “Watching the smiles and conversations around the chili was a delight,” he says. “But the highlight of the evening was the sound of many voices praising God together and being reminded of our partnership in the gospel.”
