Go! Conference Challenges and Motivates Students

GOconf_inlineWILLIAMBURG, Iowa—More than 140 students and their sponsors were challenged Saturday evening, Aug. 16 to go and share the gospel. The Go! Conference, sponsored by the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches, was held in three locations in the state: Faith Baptist Church in Carroll, Nevada (Iowa) Baptist Church, and Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg.

The conference was held in multiple locations to make it easier for more churches to attend. At each location, speakers gave the students, in seventh through 12 grades, tools and resources to help them effectively share the gospel in their own sphere of influence with their neighbors, friends, family, teammates, and coworkers. Speakers were Joe Earle and Doug Brown in Carroll; Mike Augsburger and Dave Tebbenkamp in Nevada; and Tim Jones and Tim Moore in Williamsburg.

Break-out sessions presented ways and methods to share the gospel. A preaching session challenged and excited the students and adults to go and tell others about Jesus Christ.

The teens enjoyed food and fellowship and had opportunities to ask the speakers questions about personal evangelism, notes Pastor Greg Gosnell. An encouraging message of motivation capped off the evening at every location.

“It is our hope that through this event, students will receive additional tools and be encouraged to have a greater passion to reach people around them with the gospel,” says Dan Fields, chairman of the IARBC State Youth Committee.
