Drama Asks, Who Murdered Jesus Christ?

JASPER, Ind.—Prior to Easter, CrossPoint Fellowship Church hosted a Mystery Dinner Theater called “Who Murdered Jesus Christ?” The event took place on the evenings of Good Friday and Maundy Thursday.

The short drama shared the stories of people surrounding Jesus’ crucifixion and how they blamed other people for His death. Simon of Cyrene blamed the Roman guards; the guards pointed the finger at Pilate, who shifted the blame to Caiaphas; Caiaphas blamed Jesus’ own followers, including Judas, Peter, and John.

During a meal after the drama, audience members were invited to ask tough questions of the characters. The evening concluded with the truths that all of us are culpable for Jesus’ death and that Jesus willingly laid down His life for all of mankind.

Pastor David King says the presentations were “a great success, with a full house both evenings with a large number of first time visitors.”
