FORT MYERS, Fla.—Three times a year, members of Daniels Road Baptist Church get together for a fun-filled three-day crafting event called Scrap and Yak. One of those events recently took place, and the other two happen before Thanksgiving and in the summer.
The women, and sometimes a few men, meet at the church Thursday through Saturday morning and afternoon for scrapbooking, card making, sewing, knitting, and, when they need a break, putting together puzzles. People bring their own supplies and can leave them set up for the three days.
“It is so nice to catch up on everyone’s lives and encourage each other if needed,” says Nanette Kenyon, organizer of the event. “We love making our crafts. But more than that, we love to get together with each other.”
