HARRISBURG, Pa.—Recognizing the pressing priority of evangelism and church reproduction, pastors from GARBC churches in Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Oregon gathered with other pastors and church leaders for the Church Solutions Conference, hosted by ABWE’s EveryEthne initiative.

The Church Solutions Conference laid out paths to ministry reproduction, combining principles and strategies with instruction from several experienced pastors and church planters, including Pat Nemmers, pastor of Saylorville Church, Des Moines, Iowa; and Clare Jewell, who leads Regular Baptist Builders Club and Regular Baptist Church Planting and is regional director of North America’s western region for ABWE.

The format of the conference included intentional discussion with the attendees and speakers, integrating on-site attendees with several who attended virtually.

Matt Nihiser, lead pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster, Ohio, discovered several practical tactics to use in his ministry but realizes implementation will not be a matter of quick change. The sessions on building a culture of multiplication in a congregation were “of greatest interest and help,” he says. “Culture kills strategy.”

Jason Jackson, discipleship pastor at Saylorville Church, confirmed the value of building that kind of church culture. “The conference provided our team with a confirmation of God’s current calling on our church, as well as a catalyst for redoubling our efforts in church planting and multiplication,” says Jason. Saylorville Church has grown to over 1,400 regular attenders while planting five churches.

“Paths lead to places” was a phrase the speakers repeated often over the three days of the conference. The pastors who attended left prayerfully contemplating how they could begin to take steps down the path to see souls won to Christ and His churches multiplied.
