MERIDIAN, Idaho—Meridian First Baptist Church enjoyed hosting the Annual Refine Ministry Conference of the Baptist Network Northwest April 19–21.

During the general sessions, attendees heard four powerful sermons from Philip De Courcy, a pastor in California and the host of the radio program Know the Truth. Speaking from 2 Timothy on the theme “Founded on the Word, Focused on the World,” he emphasized that preaching the Word is foundational to the Christian life.

In addition to hearing messages in the four general sessions, attendees chose among eight workshops to attend that highlighted the “Focus on the World” portion of the conference theme. Clare Jewell, national church planting coordinator for Regular Baptist Churches and director of Regular Baptist Builders Club, led a workshop on leadership development. Additional topics, led by current and former missionaries arriving from as far as Switzerland, were the basics of missions, partnering with national leadership, missions in Europe, digital church communication, the ministry of a sending church, leading ladies’ Bible studies, and church finances.

A business meeting was part of the conference as well. Northwest Baptist Home Mission, the church planting ministry of BNN, reported that it was assisting several churches that had begun building programs.

“We are so thankful to God for the powerful preaching of the Word of God, brought to us by Philip, and the opportunity that we had to host the BNN annual business meeting and Refine Conference,” says David Duron, associate pastor of Meridian First Baptist Church.

Dave Lunsford, executive director of BNN, says, “The conference was an encouraging time for all, and God was glorified on many different fronts.”
