A Ladies’ Tea Wrapped in Love

By December 15, 2017No Comments

WINFIELD, Ill.—Ribbons, bows, and wrapping paper carefully hold precious gifts during the Christmas season. Likewise, God’s love carefully wraps around us, and we are precious in His sight. The women of Faith Baptist Church celebrated this theme, “Wrapped in Love,” at an outreach Christmas tea. Members of the church sponsored tables by each decorating a table with holiday-theme items and serving tea to the ladies. Ladies from the church also provided food.

The program featured special music, group singing, a ribbon bow craft, and a devotional. Amy Dunham, author of RBP’s women’s Bible study Soul Rest, was the guest speaker. She pointed out that Jesus came to this world as a baby and was wrapped in swaddling cloths. The shock a newborn feels leaving the warmth of the womb but the comfort that is instantly provided by the arms of the baby’s mother mirrors the comfort that God provides for us. In our messy and sometimes jarring lives, Amy says, God wraps us in the love His salvation provides.

Everyone in attendance enjoyed this special time of fellowship with friends from the church and community.
