WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis.—God has blessed Calvary Baptist Church with an opportunity for the last five years to be involved with an event in the community. The Children’s Miracle Network hosts a balloon rally each year at the end of summer. Children’s Miracle Network is a charity that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network are used to provide charitable care, purchase life-saving equipment, and fund research and education programs that save and improve the lives of 17 million children each year. To ensure children’s hospitals have the resources they need, Children’s Miracle Network’s partners conduct thousands of special events and grassroots fundraisers year-round. In 2006, the organization asked if Calvary Baptist would be willing to hold a church service on the grounds of the event on the Sunday morning. The church jumped at the chance because it allows the congregation to be involved in the community, it gives believers a chance to worship together, and allows the church people to have another venue to which they can invite those who are hesitant to enter a church building. The church holds its normal morning worship service, and then the people enjoy some fellowship time afterward. It is also a time for the church’s two morning services to be combined, as it isn’t  limited by space.
