John Greening’s Tribute to Brad Quick

Debbie and your family,

Daria and I extend our deepest sympathies to you. To the First Baptist family we grieve with you in the departure of your beloved pastor. I represent tonight in this memorial service the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Our association lost a champion of local church commitment and interchurch cooperation when Pastor Brad Quick went to Heaven to meet the Head of the church, Jesus Christ.

Brad was a leader who brought churches together in the local Hebron Fellowship, the state OARBC, and the national GARBC. He worked to accomplish the ideals of our motto, “Together we can accomplish more.”

Brad, in fulfilling his ministry calling, was a pastor first and foremost who lovingly cared for this church family. With the heart of a pastor he sought to encourage his peers in ministry. Many pastors could give testimony to his kind words and deeds. God had given Brad the capacity to love and care about the vitality, integrity, and the multiplication of other Baptist churches. He taught his own church to share that burden, as evidenced by the many occasions this church opened its heart and homes to other pastors, missionaries, churches, and even associations of churches. He exemplified the best of what our association is about.

The GARBC lost a champion last week who gave himself enthusiastically always in a positive spirit to make our association stronger. Brad’s wit and laughter, his wisdom and counsel, his love for the Savior, his heart for churches, and his respect for the pulpit will be missed by all of us who were privileged to be his friends and colleagues in service. We who remain will endeavor to perpetuate the convictions, work, and character that he modeled for all of us.

Thank you, Debbie,  family, and church for sharing Pastor Brad with all of us.

John Greening, GARBC National Representative
