Camping Trip Filled with Play and Fellowship

BB-inlineMERIDIAN, Idaho—More than 75 people from Meridian First Baptist Church enjoyed a camping trip at Brownlee Reservoir on the Idaho/Oregon border June 5–7.

“Each day began with a brief devotional at breakfast and was filled with lots of play and fellowship,” says Pastor Randy Cook. “The weather was perfect and conversations went late into the night around the campfires.”

Each day two pontoon boats and a couple private boats took people out fishing. Most of the fish caught were thrown back into the water, but some were kept for a group fish fry. Pastor Cook ended up catching the biggest fish on the trip—a 5.5-pound catfish.

This was the fourth year the church has organized such a camping trip. Every fall, says Cook, the men take a more serious trip to fish for steelhead.
