Pastor Al and Pat Franklin

REDDING, Calif.—Grace Baptist Church recently honored Pastor Al and Pat Franklin, who have faithfully served the church for 35 its 50 years. To honor the Franklins, the church hosted an elegant dinner for over 400 people in the gymnasium—and then presented the couple with a 2010 Honda Odyssey. Pastor Franklin is a scholar and an excellent Bible expositor, says the church family. He is faithful in the study and solid teaching of God’s Word. Al feeds his congregation not only spiritually, but also physically all summer with the abundant harvest from his garden. His collection of fossils, displayed in the church foyer, also educates the congregation of the world’s time line. Complementing her husband’s ministry, Pat utilizes her gift of hospitality to host church events, including small dinners and activities, an open house for 200 people, and event functions for the whole church body. Pat also makes a musical contribution, helping with choirs, seasonal programs, and church socials and playing the piano. At the end of the afternoon, the Franklins received the keys to their new car, a gift from the congregation. Grace Baptist Church reports its thankfulness for a faithful couple serving the Lord, and looks forward to many more years of ministry together.
