Those not acquainted with our association often assume that I have authority over the churches. Salespeople believe that I can enroll churches in their special programs. Church members think that I can step in and settle their dispute with their pastor. Much to their dismay, I tell them that I have no power over any pastor or church. Our association is for the churches by the churches.
The GARBC is a voluntary network of churches committed to doing the work of the Great Commission. In June, six new members to the guiding body of the GARBC, the Council of 18, will be elected by the churches. Have you nominated candidates on behalf of your church? Of the 12 returning council members, the following states are represented: California (1), Florida (2), Illinois (1), Iowa (6), Michigan (1), and Ohio (1).
