GARBC Resource Center Team Ministers in Haiti

Seven employees at the GARBC ministry center have just returned from a missions trip to Haiti, led by Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries. “God did some awesome things during the trip, and I grew to appreciate each one of the group members,” Chris Hindal says.

Group members included Seth Olson (production artist), Linda Piepenbrink (editor), Jonathan Norris (marketing project coordinator), Jason LaBombard (webmaster and designer), Jennie Bensen (assistant editor), and Jonita Barram (copy editor). Read more at Baptist Bulletin.

Christian Business Ventures in Haiti

Donors are needed to fund micro-finance Christian business ventures in Haiti. Business income will enable the local churches to pay their pastors. E-mail Chris Hindal for a business plan.

A note from Pastor Jacquelin Saint-Preux, fellow pastor in the GARBC:

Two months ago, we had an unfortunate internal crisis that devastated our church both spiritually and financially. In May 2010, one of the women graduated from a Bible school and expected to become a pastor and preach in the church. I disagreed with her because this is against our church’s beliefs. So, upon my refusal of her demand, she started a campaign of unrest in the assembly, and the effectiveness of the church decreased, and we could no longer cover our operating costs. We have moved to another location, sharing space with a fundamental Baptist church located about four blocks from our previous address. Pray for my family and me during this crisis so that Jesus could still use us in this ministry with the Haitian community in Elmont, N.Y., before His imminent return.

You might wish to  e-mail Pastor Jacquelin a note of encouragement.
