ChurchPlanting_Inline_FullCHURCH PLANTING MEETING AT REGULAR BAPTIST MINISTRIES RESOURCE CENTER
Church planting is a key focus in the GARBC Council of Eighteen’s strategic plan. In the pursuit of prompting and assisting churches in the work of church planting, several ministry leaders from churches, mission agencies, and Regular Baptist Ministries will gather at the Regular Baptist Ministries Resource Center Aug. 10–12. Please pray that the Lord would use these meetings to initiate and support church planting by churches in our association. Sam Farlow, church planter with ABWE, chairs the Council of Eighteen committee on church planting.

Chris Hindal, director of GARBC International Ministries, shares thrilling news regarding two churches forming a partnership to build Christ’s church. Pastor Choi Dong Kwon and Spring Water Baptist Church, Daegu, South Korea, are financially supporting a Baptist church plant across the Asian continent in Indonesia, led by Pastor Pamuji. Pastors Kwon and Pamuji share church news, translating through Google services. The Koren church plans to support the Indonesian church for two years. See the story at garbcInternational.org.

MIDWEST CONGRESS OF BAPTIST FUNDAMENTALISTS
“Interpretation Matters: Affirming Our Dispensational Heritage” is the theme of the 2015 Midwest Congress of Baptist Fundamentalists Oct. 26 and 27 at Glacier Canyon Lodge in Wisconsin Dells. The Congress is a regional gathering of individuals who affirm essential Christian doctrine, fellowship in Baptist ecclesiology, and commit to the fundamentals of the gospel as the boundary of Christian fellowship. One of the uniting principles that Baptist fundamentalists share is the interpretive method of approaching the Holy Scriptures, reflected by the theme of the 2015 Congress. The Congress seeks to champion their uniting principles to today’s generation. For more information or to register, visit baptistcongress.org.

Soon 20 select digital recordings will be available online free of  charge, with more to come. Thanks to those who financially supported this endeavor of preserving the association ‘s heritage and values through the release of these historic and soul-stirring Bible messages.

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT IMPLICATIONS FOR  CHURCHESmoney_IN
GARBC Treasurer Michael Nolan offers the following information regarding church-paid (or reimbursed) medical insurance benefits:

Prior to the Affordable Care Act, churches could pay for employees’ health care directly to the provider or they could reimburse employees for insurance premiums. This was covered in the tax code under section 106, which states that when you calculate gross income, it does not include employer provided coverage of a health plan or the qualified reimbursement. The costs of this coverage could be excluded from taxes. However, the parameters have changed. (Read more.)
