New Life Baptist Church Advances

New Life Baptist Church, Lake in the Hills, Illinois, celebrated their ten-year anniversary and graduation to self-supporting status during a special “Graduation Sunday” on March 30th. The church was started by ABWE-USA missionaries, Mark and Judy Wood. In January, Pastor Mark Wood accepted the call to remain at the church as its first official pastor. Guest speaker for the day, Norm Nicklas, ABWE Executive Administrator for North America, challenged the church to be a duplicating church, sending new workers to the ends of the world.  As part of the celebration, the church rejoiced over the completion of a renovation project in which warehouse space was converted into a worship center. A Baptist Builders Club grant enabled the church to purchase chairs, a portable baptistry, and sound system upgrades. Many church members and community businesses donated time, labor, and materials for construction of the new worship center.
