World “Unity” on Display

By September 25, 20092 Comments

At a recent conference of world leaders,

Where did these acrimonius speeches take place? Why, at the General Assembly of the so-called “United” Nations! The same body that is “committed to maintaining international peace and security [and] developing friendly relations among nations.”

It is symptomatic of the end times that “nation will rise against nation” (Luke 21:10). It is only when Christ has conquered the earth that people from every nation will worship the Lamb together (Rev. 5:10; 7:9).

All the same, we should be much more committed to reaching the lost in our neighborhoods than incessantly scanning the headlines for signs of the end times.

No matter what is going on in the world scene, we are to be much more focused on the lost than on whether or not these are the end times.

    Hmmm….

Bob, I’m not sure how you know whether or not I (or “we”) are more committed to reaching the lost than “incessantly” (one blog post, and we are “incessant”?) scanning headlines for signs of the end times.

And I don’t think biblically it is an either/or…we are to both be focused on reaching the lost AND be looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
