EMILIE BARNES

Harvest House, 192 Pages, Paper, $10.99

Believers need to act the best they can in various social situations, and this book offers a Christian context in manners and etiquette. Families could do well to read this together.

Covered are such subjects as entertaining at home, invitations and thank-you notes, table manners, restaurant etiquette (both as host and guest), tipping, introductions and meeting people, social taboos and annoyances, phone manners, five manners most parents forget to teach, eating properly, business etiquette, dating manners, tea parties (Barnes points out their own etiquette), wedding etiquette, death/funeral manners, and more. You’ll enjoy taking the Etiquette IQ quiz at the beginning of the book and the quiz in the chapter on being a gracious adult. Both score you on how well you do.
