MIKE’S PICKS: RESOURCES FOR MINISTRY
Mike Hess, GARBC national representative, suggests the following resources for your ministry toolbox:

  • Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy
Mark Vroegop, keynote speaker at the 2019 GARBC Conference, has written Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy, a helpful book on understanding Biblically what it means to lament. My wife, Christina, and I have been going through this book together. This would be a helpful book to give to someone who is struggling with grief or discouragement.
  • “Applying Biblical Separation” Podcast Episode
How should we think about and apply Biblical separation? RBP Director David Gunn and I recently addressed this issue in the Baptist Bulletin podcast episode “Applying Biblical Separation.” It’s one thing to know what Scripture says about separation, but it’s another thing to wisely apply the principle.
  • “The Christian and His Politics”
Pastor Dave Cunningham has written “The Christian and His Politics,” an excellent article about the volatile issue of politics. His writing is balanced and, more importantly, Biblical. This article would be a great resource to insert in your church bulletin or otherwise make available to people in your church.

BAPTIST BULLETIN PODCAST OFFERS STIMULATING DISCUSSIONS
The strong response to the new Baptist Bulletin podcast is encouraging! Episodes include “What Is a Regular Baptist,” “Challenges Facing the Church and the Importance of Sound Hermeneutics,” “The Essence of True Worship,” “A Regular Baptist Perspective on Lent,” and “Understanding Biblical Separation.” If you haven’t already done so, please take time to listen to the podcast. Listen at GARBC.org and via iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play.

PRECONFERENCE MODULES ADDRESS CHURCH REVITALIZATION

  • Developing an Evangelistic Environment in the Local Church
  • Breathing New Life into Your Church

NORTHWEST CONFERENCE: CHURCH IN POST-CHRISTIAN SOCIETY
“Being the Church in a Post-Christian Society” will be the featured topic of Baptist Network Northwest’s Refine Conference. Guest speaker Jim Tillotson will address conferees, April 25–26, at Calvary Baptist Church in Everett, Washington. See flyer and registration.
