SEATTLE, Wash.—Patricia Irene Nye, former missionary, died on Sept. 16, 2009, at age 71.
Upon graduation from high school in 1957, Pat married James “Jim” Nye, and they enrolled in Western Baptist Bible College, El Cerrito, Calif. In 1963 they began several years of service under Northwest Baptist Home Mission. Together they established Maple Lane Baptist Church, Oregon City, Ore., and Columbia Ridge Baptist Church, Vancouver, Wash. In 1972 Jim accepted a call to First Baptist Church, South Whidbey, where they served until 1981.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert R. and Chloris I. Waskey.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jim; two sons, Randy and Dave; two granddaughters; two foster daughters, Juanita and Pam; five foster grandchildren; and three foster great-grandchildren.
