David Boehning, Missionary, Pastor, and Professor

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa.—David Boehning, who had a passion for missions, died June 25. He was 76.

David devoted his life to helping others find hope in Christ through Bible teaching, evangelism, and discipleship. From 1969 to 1981 he was a missionary in the Philippines with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism. During seven of those years he was pastor of Manila Baptist Church. When he and his wife returned to the States, he served as a pastor in Miami, Florida; at Kossuth Street Baptist Church, Lafayette, Indiana; and at Haddon Heights (New Jersey) Baptist Church. David then served as associate professor of missions at Clarks Summit University from 1987 until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Clarks Summit.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlotte; three daughters, Kristin Crichton, StacyAnn Matz, and Lisel Whipple; and seven grandchildren.
