FLINT, Mich.—For some people, Valentine’s Day is a day to spend with loved ones, while for others, it brings feelings of homesickness—particularly for those away in college or the military.

South Baptist Church brought a bit of “home” to 24 of its members and friends when it shipped care packages of sweet treats and loving greetings this Valentine’s Day.

Project Coordinator Becky Shipp was a recipient herself when she was in college, she told The Flint Township View. Seven were shipped to service members; the rest were disbursed to college students across the country.
