ELYRIA, Ohio—Dr. Renald Showers and Dr. Kevin Bauder have concluded a week of great preaching with their final sermons on Thursday. Aaron Blumer, pastor of Grace Baptist Church (Boyceville, Wis.) and publisher of the SharperIron website, introduced Dr. Bauder on Thursday night.
Earlier in the day, high school students from across the country competed in 12 categories during the annual Talents For Christ competition, part of the 2009 GARBC Conference held at First Baptist Church, Elyria, Ohio. The students qualified for the annual event by placing first or second in state competitions. Judges chose several of the participants to minister during the Thursday evening and Friday morning sessions. Contest winners will be announced on Friday morning.
During the Thursday morning Bible hour, Michael Nolan reported on the ministry of Baptist Builders Club and presented a check for $15,000 to Pastor Webster Frowner for the ministry at First Regular Baptist Church (Kansas City, Mo.).
