Pana_ord_inlinePANA, Ill.—An ordination council convened Oct. 17 at First Baptist Church to examine Josh Palma’s call to ministry. Palma is associate pastor of music and discipleship at First Baptist.

The ordination council, consisting of 15 pastors and messengers from 12 churches, enthusiastically recommended that the church proceed with ordination and commended Palma for his grasp of the Scriptures, gracious spirit, and competent handling of the questions.

An ordination service was held on Sunday, Oct. 19. Curt Gordon, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, Knoxville, Iowa, gave the charge to the church. Tim Yankee, Palma’s father-in-law and pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Ludington, Mich., gave the charge to the candidate. Josh led the choir in a special song of praise, and his wife, Lindsay, sang for the service. Josh’s father, Bob, closed the service with prayer.

Josh and Lindsay have served at First Baptist Church for the past year after faithfully serving at Faith Baptist Church, Knoxville, Iowa. They are both graduates of Faith Baptist Bible College, Ankeny, Iowa. Josh also holds an MDiv from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary.
