GROVER BEACH, Calif.—Carl W. Wheeler, 98, died on Feb. 20. Carl was one of the founders of the GARBC in Washington State. After moving from Covington Baptist Church, Covington, Pa., he pastored Ferndale Baptist Church from 1944 to 1956. Moving nine miles away, he started a new GARBC church in Bellingham Wash., where he stayed for over 10 years. He then pastored Tumwater Baptist, Tumwater, Wash., for 20 years.
Carl, who used his computer and cell phone to encourage people, ministered to others right up to the day he died.
Carl was preceded in death on Oct. 3, 2005, by his wife of 70 years, Florence.
He is survived by his daughters, Joanne Campbell and Laurel Anne Dailey, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
