Pastor Ted Ertle has been dealing with complications during his heart surgery recovery, including leg infection, congestive heart failure, and blood clots in the lung. He has also lost the use of a portion of his heart. Ted and his wife, Rose, are in their new home at Maranatha Village, 207 Timothy Rd., Sebring, FL 38870. They thank you for your prayers and ask that you continue to pray.
Pastor Don LeMaster, Brooklyn, N.Y., thanks you for your prayers on his behalf during his recent round of surgeries. On July 14 he had lung surgery to remove a cancerous sarcoma from his right lung and then on Sept. 2 he had surgery to remove a pituitary tumor. Both surgeries were successful, and in Don’s words, “I am feeling wonderful.” He plans to resume his pulpit ministry Sept. 27.
Pastor Dale and Gwen Schatz, Bella Vista, Ark., are both recovering from surgery. Pastor Dale had a malignant colon mass removed, for which the recovery has been slow and painful. He is able to eat a little better each week. Gwen has had her surgery site aspirated twice where a benign chest wall mass was removed. Please continue to their recovery.
Please pray for the following pastors who have recently lost their spouses due to death:
Wayne Booker (Carolyn), former IL-MO representative, 111 Diamond Ridge Ave., Canton, GA 30114
Doug Keenan (Stephanie), 210 Woods Dr., Albion, IN, 46701
Wayne Morris (Laura), 219 Shiloh Dr., Colville, WA, 99114

Compassion in Action
We have so much, but others have so little. Are you and your church willing to share the spiritual and material wealth that we enjoy in this country? Read on to learn of International Ministry needs and how we can be involved. (Photo: Liberian children in Sunday School but with no Bible materials.)
- Join Formula 300—For $30 per month, you can help care for shipping costs of Sunday School and VBS curriculum that Regular Baptist Press donates to 40 countries around the world. By doing so, you are directly helping internationals learn the Word of God.
- Sponsor an international pastor to attend the November International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries Conference in Bangkok. Many of our international partners would like to attend but do not have the funds to do so. You can pay for their registration at $150 per person or assist in their airfare (a ticket for a pastor from Africa costs $1,200).
E-mail Chris Hindal if you would like to learn more about helping these international brothers and ministries. You may also donate online. A little makes a lot when our efforts are combined!
Helping Children Support Missions
Can you remember what fun it was to fill a piggy bank with pennies when you were a child? Gospel
Literature Services will give you a piggy bank for kids to fill to provide Sunday School and VBS materials to other children far away. The Kids for GLS project is a great way for a family, a Sunday School class, or a Christian school class to build interest in missions. These funds will help pay the shipping costs to get these resources to Asia, Africa, India, and other needy lands.

Don’t Stop Loving the Church Seminar
West Cannon Baptist Church, Belmont, MI is sponsoring a one-day Pastors’ Seminar on Tuesday, September 22. Mark Cizauskas, executive pastor, writes, “It is a joy for our church family to provide an opportunity for fellowship, encouragement, and renewal for those who are battling on the front lines. God has blessed us and we want to be a blessing to you and your church family.
It is our desire this year to exalt the church. There are many rallying cries today beckoning Jesus followers to abandon the church for something more authentic or relevant. Some even condemn loyalty to the church as disloyalty to Jesus. It’s time to turn our ears and eyes to God’s Word, remember the beauty of the Bride of Christ, and fall in love with her again. As pastors and church leaders, we must not abandon the call to be “shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood” (Acts 20:28). Join us we consider why we must continue to love and defend the church in spite of her flaws.
We are thrilled that Kevin DeYoung, Ted Kluck, and Mike Wittmer are joining us this year. Each of them is committed to the church; they have written excellent books on this subject.” To register, visit the conference website.
