Posted May 28, 2009 in GARBCnews, PrayerLink

Pastor Rudy, Anchor Baptist Church, Genoa City, Wisconsin, is no longer able to receive chemo treatments in his ongoing battle with cancer.  He is at home, receiving hospice care. His wife, Elaine, is praying that Paul’s new feeding tube will give him a bit more strength and clarity. Pray for God’s strength and grace to sustain Paul and Elaine during these difficult days.

Prairie Baptist Welcomes Pastor Nathan & Anita Johnson

Posted in GARBCnews

NOBLESVILLE, In.—Prairie Baptist Church welcomed its new pastor and wife, Nathan and Anita Johnson, formerly of Griffith, Indiana, during an installation service held on Sunday morning, May 3.  Rev. Irwin Johnson of Tell Ministries, father of the pastor, charged his son regarding the role of a pastor and preached during the evening service. John Greening, GARBC national representative, charged the church regarding their responsibility to the pastor and spoke during the Sunday School hour. Rev. Greening expressed appreciation to the church for their active participation in the GARBC since 1947.  The service ended with laying on of hands, committing Pastor Johnson and his ministry to the Lord.  A delicious reception luncheon followed the installation service. The Johnsons are parents of two daughters, Abigail and Lydia.

Prayer Update, Ryan Johnson

Posted in GARBCnews, PrayerLink

This prayer update is from Pastor Dan and Linda Johnson, regarding their twelve-year-old son, Ryan, who is recovering from a diabetic coma.

Ryan is gaining strength, walking with assistance, and able to read, write, and do math problems.  His memory is good and improving. Although his rate of moving is slow, his motor skills are improving and he is able to tie his shoes, do buttons, and other similar tasks.  Numerous doctors and nurses call Ryan a miracle. God is using Ryan’s experience to dramatically change lives. Thanks again for the faithful, effective prayers of God’s people.

Putting Others First: May 2009

Attention GARBC Pastors!

In 1999 the GARBC initiated an international partnership to reach out to associations of fundamental independent Baptist church associations around the globe.  Our missionaries have been laboring abroad throughout our nearly eighty-year history.  In many countries where the gospel has been fruitful, local churches have been established and they have formed associations, similar to our own. Fifty-four such associations have joined with us in the International Partnership of Fundamental Baptist Ministries (IPFBM).   After ten years of correspondence and on-site visits by the GARBC directors, it is time to bring us all together for a first-ever IPFBM Conference to be held near Bangkok, Thailand at the beautiful Wangren Resort on November 4-7, 2009.
