An association’s strongest assets are the people who comprise it. The GARBC’s brain trust is amazing; the voices behind those brains need to be heard! Young Baptist leaders within the GARBC have incredible ideas on ministering. Older leaders have a depth of knowledge and ministry savvy. It is time to bring the two groups together! Old and young make a terrific combination. Recently a group of young Baptist leaders joined the Council of 18 at their meetings in Chicago. Together the participants came up with great ideas to let the voices be heard and to rejuvenate the Association. Whether you are young or old, the GARBC offers you the opportunity to lead and influence. Help us think of ways to get the old and young in gear in moving the Association forward. Get in on this important discussion and let your voice be heard!

Ruby Hol
Continue to pray for Ruby, young daughter of Pastor Trent and Lydia Hol, Willow Creek Baptist Church, West Des Moines, IA, as questionable spots on her liver are still showing signs of activity. There is no new cancer activity elsewhere; Ruby’s doctor is confident about a favorable outcome. Ruby will be taking the chemo pill for approximately six months.
Lydia, Ruby’s mother, testifies of the Lord’s goodness despite this recent news of remaining cancer spots, “Obviously, we have been praying that the Lord would heal Ruby completely and quickly. We have also prayed that God would give us peace, use this situation for His glory, and that we would grow to trust Him more. He is answering our prayers!”

Tools for International Partners
Digital tools for outreach–DVD/CDs, websites, and video recordings may be plentiful in the U.S.A., but not in other parts of the world. Gospel Literature Services (GLS), with the help of missionary Chris Brown, is expanding the delivery of gospel literature to provide international partners, pastors, and missionaries with digital tools and media services. By doing so, our international colleagues can learn how to use digital tools for expanding their outreach. Won’t you be part of this exciting work of spreading the gospel internationally by becoming a member of the Digital Impact Team? If you would like GLS to be presented at your church, please contact GLS Director, Chris Hindal, or GLS missionary, Chris Brown.
BBC-Churches Helping Churches
The Baptist Builders’ Club Board of Administrators will be meeting November 19 to review two churches that have applied for grants. There is one church in the start-up category and one church in the build-up category. Please join them in prayer as they consider each application.
Prayer for Council of 18 Meeting
Two important initiatives are at the center of Council discussions for their November 17-19 meeting: Church Planting and Young Baptist Leaders. Won’t you join in praying for the Council and the Young Baptist Leader guests as they consider these initiatives? Please pray that they would have the Lord’s wisdom, clarity in thinking, and creativity as they make plans that impact the future of our Association.

State Association Pairs with RBP
A new combo of a state association conference and RBP ministry help seminars was recently piloted in the state of New York with great success. The Empire Fellowship, under the leadership of Craig Golden, hosted a pre-conference Blueprint Seminar for pastors and wives and church leaders, followed on the next day with the Empire Association meetings and RBP seminars. Topics related to ministering to men, women, teens, and parents, as well as teaching adult and children, were presented. Read more. If your state association would like to learn more about pairing with RBP’s ministry workshops, please contact Tony Randolph at RBP, 888.588.1600.ext.887
Godly Responses to Presidential Election
Diverse Ethnic America Has Voted by Eldon Brock, director of Ethnic to Ethnic Ministries
America has voted. We have a new president. The many segments of Diverse Ethnic Americans have exercised their right and made us more aware than ever of their presence. Some people seem to think that things are the way they have always been; that Anglo Americans, with a predominantly Judeo-Christian background, are still the majority. This is not so.The variety of voting blocks in this election forcibly reminds us that God has moved the Nations to our land. (Read more of this article…)
