Spring Conference Discusses Local Outreach Strategies

BREESPORT, N.Y.—The Northeast Fellowship held its Annual Spring Ministry Conference at Breesport Baptist Church April 24. In the last three years, the Northeast Fellowship has changed the focus of its spring meeting from a Bible conference to a ministry training conference for church leaders.

The uniqueness of the spring conference is twofold. First, it is workshop driven (there is no main speaker), and second, it’s a single-day event in an attempt to be sensitive to pastors’ busy schedules and many commitments.

Nineteen workshops dealt with the theme “Local Outreach Strategies,” addressing women’s outreach events, community compassion initiatives, assimilation strategies, reaching Millennials, using holidays to reach out, discipleship strategies, and more.

Dr. Jim Vogel, executive director of the Northeast Fellowship, reports that “the conference was well attended and many expressed appreciation for the good fellowship among leaders, as well as the practical workshops on a much needed area of ministry in our churches here in the northeast USA.”
